Noted comics illustrator Keith Giffen stands by an unsubstantiated claim that he was reincarnated from Bantha stock.  His choice of character was motivated by an intense fascination with anybody named after an infant drool catcher.  Indeed, Jabba's right-hand entity, Bib Fortuna, never looked so intriguing.  Giffen's other memorable work includes the retooling of the Justice League of America and Legion of Superheroes for DC and his tough-as-nails creations Lobo and Trencher, the latter for Image.
