It's been a while since the last update - Hallowe'en if I'm not mistaken. I have some legitimate excuses for why it's taken this long to return to the ol' Post Mortem, and I have some excuses I've made up just for this occasion. I'll save you the trouble, however, and skip all the blah-blah-too-busy-holiday-season BS and jump right to the part where we pick up precisely where we left off with the last update.
In this update we have a return visit from Buffy scribe, Jane Espenson, who is accompanied by the amazingly talented and very well-mannered, Eric Wight. Eric did some work on the Animated Buffy pilot that is making the rounds (or at least, was making the rounds last time I checked) and has contributed to many, many, many other fabulous cartoon series that I have enjoyed in the past.
In this interview, the two fill us in on where the series was when it was abandoned, how they got involved with the thing in the first place, and give us a bit of an update on where it is now that it has been dusted off.

The other interview on the site is with Dave Gibbons and is one of the first ones I ever conducted (you can tell if you compare my question style from then to now). It was in 1998 and I was just starting out at this whole comic book journalist thing. It was also the first time anyone wanted to do an interview via e-mail. I guess Dave was in the UK, so he probably saved me some much needed cashola at the time, but it was still an awkward experience for me. It's pretty much the norm now, but back then a lot of pros did their chats by phone, so...
But I digress.
Anyways, that's it for this time. Next time I'll have David Fury to talk about Buffy, Angel and his ne show, Lost.
